REFLECT
Prayer can be brief, simple, repetitive. A scripture passage, phrase or idea could be repeated throughout the day for meditation.
The public prayer of the Taizé Community, an ecumenical Christian fraternity in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France, often is centered around simple, repetitive phrases from the Psalms or Scripture.
Here are several suggestions from today’s Scripture and other passages for contemplation.
“The Lord is kind and merciful.”
“The Lord comforts his people.”
“The Lord is near to all who call upon him.”
“Be still and know that I am God.”
“I will never forget you.”
“I am the resurrection and the life.”
PRAY, ACT
You may recognize this Taizé sung prayer from our Holy Week celebration here at Saint Paul Cathedral Parish:
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Make this refrain part of your daily prayer today.
