St Bernard (1090-1153) Spoke of the three comings of Christ. The first was in Bethlehem and the last will be when he returns in glory. In his intermediate coming he comes to us each day. One of the most beautiful ways Jesus comes to us is through reconciliation. This Advent we have the opportunity to respond to the voice of our Shepherd who calls us to receive his mercy and forgiveness. On Wednesday December 15 the Diocese of Pittsburgh will again offer the opportunity for confession. The Light Is On For You will allow the opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation from 6-9 P.M. in the cathedral and in other churches.
Prayer:
Lord, open my ears to your voce and my heart to receive all that you wish to give me. May your comings throughout the year make my faith strong and give me courage to invite others to know and follow you. Come Lord Jesus.
Action:
Prepare to celebrate the beautiful sacrament of reconciliation. In the Catholic Church we do not celebrate our sins. We never have and we never will. What we celebrate is God’s mercy and forgiveness. May we encounter this grace in the sacrament of reconciliation with faith renewed.
